Teaching hearing impaired students has its challenges. However the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists (RCSLT)  has worked with the British Association of Teachers of the Deaf (BATOD) to develop best practice guidance on collaborative working between Qualified Teachers of the Deaf (QToDs) and Speech and Language Therapists (SLTs).

The guidance aims to improve outcomes for deaf children and young people. This is a great step forward for hearing impaired students and will improve their access to education.
